In the final analysis, many believers will stand before God bragging about all of the things they did for His kingdom, only to learn they failed to do the one thing He wanted them to do personally. In the final analysis, the one thing that matters is that we're led by God in all we do & say, in every area of our lives. Pray for us that we will always seek God's light in all we do, in every situation we face. Few people realize it's God's servants who need prayer the most. Satan will do all he...

We're a generation who majors in minors & minors in majors . We tend to blow the most inconsequential things all out of proportion turning molehills into mountains. We also tend to totally ignore the things in life that are most important. However, when we strive to see things from God's perspective, all of this begins to change. Everything in our lives gradually begins to take on a whole new light. That's why I stress walking in the light of God so much folks. In the light of God we begin to...

Dangerous Task Once there was a millionaire, who collected live alligators. He kept them in the pool, back of his mansion. The millionaire also had a beautiful daughter who was single. One day he decides to throw a huge party, and during the party he announces, "My dear guests...I have a proposition to every man here. I will give one million dollars or my daughter to the man who can swim across this pool full of alligators and emerge unharmed!" As soon as he finished his last word, th...

Some years ago, on a hot summer day in south Florida, a little boy decided to go for a swim in the old swimming hole that was behind his house. In a hurry to dive into the cool water, he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went. He flew into the water, not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore. In the house, his mother was looking out the window. She saw the two as they got closer and closer togeth...

You know, I've only been in the ministry for 25 years now; but that's been long enough to notice our tendency to put more faith in commentators than in the Bible itself. I was guilty of that for years myself until God asked me to personally give Him one reason why He shouldn't send me to hell; & suddenly my mind went blank. I couldn't give God one reason why He shouldn't send me to hell. That's when God shared this truth with me; The greatest distance in the whole world is only 18 inches. Tha...

God showed me again recently that it takes no longer for me to say a short prayer for someone than it does for me to say I'll pray for you. I don't mean this in a derogatory way. I've been in a pulpit for most of the last 25 years, & I learned to hate the shotgun prayer calls there in the churches. When a prayer for someone becomes important enough to drop what we're doing & pray for that person right then, God hears that prayer. We don't see more miracles in our prayer lives often because we...

I stepped into the light one day & saw some things right away, things I'd never seen before, things I didn't want to see any more. I stepped back into the shadows there totally, blissfully, unaware the light shining inside of me was sent by God to set me free from all the enemies of my soul, to cleanse, heal, & make me whole. I stepped back into the light, let it's influence set things right. I'm a far better person today for having let it have it's way in my heart, & in my li...

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Proverbs 3:5 This is one of the first verses God ever quickened to me. It deals with trusting God & not leaning to our own understanding . When we're going through something, are we really letting go of that problem & allowing God to handle it; or are we just seeking God's help to control that situation ourselves ? Serving God on a purely physical plane is one of the most miserable forms of existence ...

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him . Hebrews 11:6 When was the last time you kept praying until you knew you'd heard from God? When you heard from Him, how did He communicate with you? I believe many of us don't actually get an answer for one of 4 reasons; (1) we're not keeping His commandments ( John 13:34-35 ), we're not doing the things that please Him ( Luk...

I came to a place in my own life after 15 years in a pulpit where I realized what I had come to believe had no relevence in my real life. In layman's terms, the things I believed weren't changing my life @ all. I remembered a lesson God taught me just 3 years into the ministry. I was lying awake in bed with my Bible on my chest when God dropped this thought into my conscious mind out of nowhere; Can you give me one reason why I shouldn't send you to hell ? Immediately I began quoting Him scr...

An Interesting Question Friday 01.21.05 [8:56 pm] delete entry | edit entry Someone posed an interesting question recently; What does it mean to be righteous? In James 5:16 we're told; the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man accomplishes much . The righteous there has nothing to do with being sinless or perfect, & everything to do with rendered judgement . It's about being judged not guilty. However, you might want to note it mentions confessing our faults to one another...
