Walking in the light of God
I stepped into the light one day
& saw some things right away,
things I'd never seen before,
things I didn't want to see any more.
I stepped back into the shadows there
totally, blissfully, unaware
the light shining inside of me
was sent by God to set me free
from all the enemies of my soul,
to cleanse, heal, & make me whole.
I stepped back into the light,
let it's influence set things right.
I'm a far better person today
for having let it have it's way
in my heart, & in my life
ridding me of all the strife
that made me miserable so many years,
that made me shed so many tears.
Now that light inside of me
can shine in you & set you free.
